One if the lesser used features for Miva Merchant is a nice little feature called Category Title Images. They are exactly what they sound like. They allow you to upload an image which will replace to standard text category title. This allows you to be very creative with the way each of your categories look. Because of Miva 5’s new Store Morph Technology (SMT) you have full control on the look and feel of your category pages.
With Miva Merchant’s Category Title Images you can turn this:
Into this:
The first image just uses text for the category title, which in this case is “FAQ’s”.
However the second example has a Category Title Image uploaded and replaces that text with a graphical image.
Here is how to use them:
Login into your Miva admin. Navigate to the category you wish to add a category title image.
There is a tab at the top which says Category Title. Click this link and you will see a box to upload an image. Select the image you wish to upload and hit update. Your image will automatically replace the standard Category Text title.
That’s it! You now have a great way to enhance the look and feel of your store.
Check out these two examples of website who make great use of the category title feature.
In this case they choose to put the image in the category headers, however it is the same concept. They use images at the top of each category to really enhance their look and feel.
Here the Category Title Image fits perfectly into the rest to the design. The Abec 11 “Real Wheels” is a category title image.
